Your Mama Hears...

...that there was a bit of a bidding frenzy for the Spanish style casa in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles where Marilyn Monroe met her untimely (and some say suspicious) end in 1962.

The children will recall the house was listed in mid-July of 2010 with an asking price of $3,595,000. A well connected snitch we'll call LaTwanda Letsitslip snitched to Your Mama that there multiple offers for the fabled house came fast and furious and that the deal is going down for few hundred thousand clams over the asking price.

Not bad in a muted real estate market that sometimes still feels adrift at sea.

The new owners? Your Mama didn't get any names, but LaTwanda told us that word on the celebrity real estate grapevine is that they are palsy-walsy with some of the high profile nearby neighbors.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the neighbors actually bought the house to use as a guest cottage of sorts...

It's a very cute and tasteful property despite the creepy-factor of the Marilyn Monroe tragedy.

May her vengeful ghost terrorize all who cross the threshold.

Let the poor woman rest in peace; a somewhat private & troubled soul in life, she'd be absolutely mortified by the ghoulish speculation that has lasted longer than her lifespan.

I hope whoever bought the place lets it become what she so desperately wanted it to be –– the refuge of a home; not just another Disneyesque stop on the grislytour.
